I am currently building the UX and Design team at BAEMIN, a food delivery company originated from Korea.
How I got here
I started my career as a designer for GNT – a Japanese Company that focuses on Mobile Game development, I have worked on many products from e-commerce to Social network at GNT.
After 3 years gathering my experience in Design and Product development, I joined Lazada, one of the biggest E-commerce platform in Southeast Asia. I was responsible for a lot of major features, had taken care of Catalog, Product Page and Checkout Vertical. Here I met many great folks, working directly with Paul and Jon in the team of 14 designers.
Since Alibaba’s acquisition of Lazada for 4 billions USD, I have decided to move on and became the Lead experience designer at Aleph, a creative technology studio from Singapore. Here I worked with banks and finance giants such as Standard Charter, Vietinbank, VP Bank, Prudential Finance etc. With a great mentorship from Poon I have learnt more about design in general.
I left Aleph in mid 2018 and led the design team at Zalo, the 100m+ users social app in Vietnam. I has helped building a DesignOps culture, establishing the the process of creating a Design driven organization.
Besides works, I put a lot of effort in building the first community of UX practitioners in Vietnam. I've been the founding member of the UX Vietnam Community → since 2018, hosted the first international UX event in Vietnam. It has created great awareness and attention to the young UX practitioners of not only Vietnam but the region. This success was a big thanks to all friends and speakers Zoey, Aldrich, Chris, Hieu, Wendy, Randy, Khoi Vinh.
Last year I started running a new podcast called Design Stories for UXVN, where I interview many Vietnamese designers about the stories in design.
I did have some writings on Medium/@thailam sometimes ago, mostly written in English.
Before the COVID pandemic, I traveled a lot and love to challenge myself with many kinds of activities. I wrote some of my experience here.
